I’m still going, y’all. Round One of the Busy Week is behind us now.

One of my favorite Firely quotes (and apparently my seven year old likes it too, since he quoted it at dinner last night:

Mal: Don’t you ever stand for that sort of thing! Someone tries to kill you, you try to kill them right back!

Book: Quite specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.

Over, meet whelmed

Well, y’all, it’s gonna be bumpy for the next few days.

Not necessarily bad, just busy. Just potentially frustrating. And some really good stuff thrown in the mix. And a few hundred miles on the highway (“are we there yet?”) We’ll get to see some family we haven’t seen in a while, and meet a new nephew for the first time. Sprinkle a little holy water on some of our kids, and hope they don’t cuss while we’re in church. Birthday parties times five, I think. Financial crap (but the good kind).

So, as part of my happy place, I’ll think about a movie coming out in about seven weeks:

As part of my happy place, I’ll be thinking of y’all, who for some reason come by here and look at my words and hopefully smile once in a while. And because I don’t have enough on my plate, I’m also plotting out my mix for the August mixmania, if you wanna join in the fun then go send Jim an e-mail.

I love these, this is a straight cut and paste from a news page I read:

Car buyers get $5.3 bln in July discounts – one hour ago

Oil prices are at an all time high (and show no signs of dropping), you have to mark thousands of dollars off your cars just to get people to buy them (extended yet another month!), and yet — and I gotta admit, they are pretty confident there in the marketing department — and yet now is the time to try and increase the share of SUV’s you sell.

Go get ’em, GM. Oh and while we’re chatting, how’s that pension fund?
