The gas man is here!

Hey, he’s here!

But, there’s a catch. His work order is to look for a leak, and it says nobody is home. Because, gee, that’s the exact opposite of what unhelpful person #12 told me two hours ago! And he isn’t allowed to turn it back on unless he has clearance (clarence) from the Office!

Luckily unhelpful person #13 returned my call just a minute ago, and she confirmed that he was sent to look for a leak! Isn’t that great?

And you thought my last post was a joke? He is kinda cute. We’re gonna get our gas back on, one way or another…

Update: All done. I’m heading back to work now, safe in knowing that I’ll have a hot shower soon. Unless, you know, the house blows up in the meantime. This whole ordeal just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Again — I got’s nuthin

I could write about how we still don’t have gas (which of course means no hot water, no cooking, no washing of clothes or dishes, etc blah blah) but that is an incredibly dull story that deals with the fact that we have allowed essential services to be handled by huge corporations that span several states so any and all ability to deal with things quickly and efficiently has been tossed out the window in favor of saving a few bucks by consolidating into call centers and things. But we aren’t gonna go there.

I could whine about all the work I could have done yesterday and today instead of sitting at home waiting for the idiots to arrive and turn a valve with their wrench.

But, y’all have done enough of that, so I’ll just post more pictures of my possible celebrity girlfriend.

and, finally, one not really safe for work

and thanks to Randi’s suggestion, here is a picture of Salma Hayek for comparison. (clicky for bigger)

Yum.
