Charlie Robison cracks me up

I got a friend he ain’t never had no wife
Don’t understand why she’s the joy of my whole life
He said explain, and I know it sounds uncouth
But it’s a feelin’ in my stomach if you want to know the truth

It’s a taste, well I like to call my own
It’s a smell I only smell when I’m at home
I like to slide my face close to it and put it on my tongue
And I don’t lift my head back up until she says I’m done

I said that love means never havin’ to say
I said that love keeps tastin’ better everyday
I said that love means never havin’ to say you’re hungry

Well you know I love her biscuits, and you know I love her buns
You know I’ll eat her brisket, I ain’t never had more fun
I love her enchiladas, and I love her refried beans
Add a couple jalapenos and you’ll know just what I mean

I said that love means never havin’ to say
I said that love keeps tastin’ better everyday
I said that love means never havin’ to say you’re hungry

It’s chicken fried, and it’s served with collard greens
You think you’d died when you’re bustin’ at the seams
She’ll unbutton that top button, wipe her hands on that ol’ blouse
She’s always lookin’ finger-lickin’ good around the house

I said that love means never havin’ to say
I said that love keeps tastin’ better everyday
I said that love means never havin’ to say you’re hungry

I said that love means never havin’ to say
I said that love keeps tastin’ better everyday
I said that love means never havin’ to say you’re hungry

I said that love means never havin’ to say you’re hungry

Food fetish?

Ah, Food TV. It’s on all the time here. Sometimes in two rooms. There’s something about those food tv hosts, isn’t there? They are never out of something and running to the store to get it. They never have to catch a child to get their butcher knife back. They don’t toss stuff to the dogs to shut them up (or the kids, or the spouse).

Q: Iron Chef: Original, or American?

A: Original, of course. The American version tries too hard, is too polished, too witty. Too American.

Q: Which Food host looks the most like an adorable chipmunk on crack when you fast forward the Tivo feed?

A: Rachel Ray.

Q: Which food TV host would you most like to slap with a nicely sauteed salmon filet?

A: I can only pick one? Okay, Bobby Flay and Tyler Florence. Together.

Q: Which Food TV host has the best cleavage?

A: Giada De Laurentiis

Q: Which Food TV host would look best in a full body length fishnet stocking and santa hat?

A: Sandra Lee. Cuz, ya know, she’s “Semi Homemade”

Q: Which Food TV host has the biggest head?

A: Giada De Laurentiis. Can’t have you thinking she’s perfect or something.

Narnia. Not really a review, or is it?

I’ve only read the first half of the first page, but I don’t want to lose this link.

Seems good, so far.

PopMatters Books Feature | When We’re Old Enough to Read Fairy Tales Again: “A number of people (mostly church folks, of course) thought Jack’s seven books about the happenings in Narnia were a retelling of Bible events, from creation and the fall of man to the death and resurrection of Jesus and finally to the Battle of Armageddon and the Second Coming of Christ. On the other hand, most children (and some adults) didn’t worry too much what The Chronicles of Narnia ‘meant’ and just enjoyed them. The stories were exciting, but also worthwhile because they said many things that all good men know in their hearts to be true but have a hard time expressing in words for themselves”
