I can’t believe how grown up my little girl is.

I took her shoe shopping, and not only was she a total diva (refused to even try on anything at Payless) but she had to get shoes, with laces.

Because she can tie shoes now. Really, she can.

She’s four, people.

Also? She can count to thirty without any help. Why? Because of those temporary tattoos where you hold a sponge or wet paper towel on them until they come off the paper. In other words, she’s learning advanced math (for a four year old, at least) because she has too many tattoos. If that isn’t grown up, I don’t know what is.

Yeah, I’ve been down lately, but not so much that I can’t appreciate what Researchers discoving the largest prime number will do to bring about world peace and feed hungry children.

numbers game

After the introduction of our newest U.S. budget, I heard a BBC newscaster who kept saying “2.5 thousand million dollars.” At least I think that’s what they said.

Okay, first off I thought this sounded cool, since it’s such a big number. Plus she had a British accent and I was drooling just a little bit.

So when I was about to write this entry, I found this page about large numbers and realized that everything is different, depending on which side of the pond you are speaking from. And the fun factoid is it’s all based on French, which would probably cause Congress to get it’s freedom fries in a wad if they thought about it much. And I found this reference and okay, one more, that even mentions a zillion.
