Okay, the guy from Chicago that can’t figure out how to mail a Palm Pilot?

He’s got the right idea, apparently. The bid (with time left to go) is now up to $168.

That’s right, it’s $30 less than a brand-spanking new one at Best Buy, or Circuit City, or direct from Palm itself (with free shipping!).

As for me, I’ve decided to wait, and learn more about these monsters before I commit. I mean, yes I love gadgets, and I need to be better organized and keep track of appointments and other obligations (I keep forgetting things, it ain’t pretty), but I can wait a little longer and figure out what I want and how much I wanna spend.

Case in point:

this auction for a Sport MP3 player. Look closely - they want $17.50 for shipping! For something that is supposedly tough enough to play sports while wearing! That weighs 1.8 ounces! I paid a fraction of that amount the last time I bought a camera lens (made with glass, if you can believe it) that weighed several pounds.
