Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care?
Yesterday I went for a long run. And? I forgot my watch. When you get old, I guess these things happen, but dig this - I remembered the chest strap for my heart rate monitor, but it is dang useless without the watch to record the output.
So, I have only a vague idea how long I ran, time wise. Mileage-wise I know pretty much - 10.1 miles. Yes, I’ve finally made it to double digits on a single run. I was helped immensely by a) sleeping through my scheduled run on Easter morning (which was supposed to be the ten miler), thereby gaining an extra rest day, and 2) temperatures in the 40’s, and I know I run much better when it’s below 60 degrees.
So, anyway.
Last night I tried another meditation session, and I think I made it about nine minutes. Still didn’t have a watch on. I quit because my legs and back were sore, which might be partly due to running ten miles, but more to do with where I was sitting - it just wasn’t a good place for it. But maybe I’m getting the hang of it, kinda.
This morning, it was tricky getting the kids up and at-em, after a three or four day weekend (depending on which child we are talking about) and a very strange schedule dominated by easter candy, video games, and cleaning house. But we made it.
Hope y’all are well…
