Never thought to question how actively discouraging condom use (“just say no”) might be playing into this.
No! If we tell kids to wrap that rascal, they’ll have more sex! It’ll be like we are encouraging them!
Instead, we’ll just bury our heads in the sand. Surely they won’t be dumb enough to actually (gasp) have sex if they don’t have a condom….
sure. that’s why 1 in 4 already has an STD.
and that the CDC starts statistics on teen sex AT AGE 10.

Funny, I just posted about this yesterday. “Just Say No” didn’t work for Nancy Reagan, and it isn’t working for this either.
Oddly though, there is a group that actually blames the fact that “Absitnence Only” isn’t the only method taught everywhere. Talk about heads in the sand.
