We just returned from Stomp the Yard.
From the previews you can figure it out, I think. Kid has to straighten out his life, is sent to college, meets girl, falls in love. Oh, yeah, dance battles too.
There is one very Good thing about the movie

My daughter wants to see that movie. Was it any good?
Yes and no. The dancing was great, the characters and plot were very, very predictable. More than a Disney movie about a princess who has been kidnapped would be predictable.
The beginning of the movie features what I would consider gang-style violence, including bloodshed. This sets the stage for the main character to grow for the rest of the movie, but I couldn’t help but think “I don’t want my kids thinking this is cool, or normal, or whatever.” Luckily the whole movie wasn’t like that.
