It always amuses me to see how folks find my blog. I get most of my hits from folks searching for some variation of boobs, for sure. Emma Watson’s Boobs is always a favorite, although since Meghan Good made the new Saw movie she’s one of the primary attractions here.

Some that I’m most proud of are folks looking for Marvin the Android quotes, or Monty Python stuff. Good taste, y’all.

Some people are looking for running advice (from someone who can’t get his shit together and run) or couch potato jokes or information on Texas liquor laws. OK, we’ll chalk these up to ‘research’ and hope these folks all score well on their term papers.

But one today has me scratching my head, and I’m hoping it’s just some bored high schooler looking for a joke:

Hey, remember when I used to update this thing?

Me, too.

You’ll never guess: my computer died (at home). Yes, just weeks
before Christmas, at a time when at least half of America is afraid of
losing their jobs.

No idea when I’ll get it replaced. Since I work at a computer five
days a week (all. day.), it’s tempting to try and do without. (yeah,
right, until you need to check redbox.com or see what the weather is
like in Topeka or something).

Exciting news? Our family played Monopoly, together, and didn’t kill
each other. Played Sorry also. That and the Steelers are on Thursday
night, and I had a short lived flu bug over last weekend.

So much for the exciting news. Boring news: I’m still me, etc.

I have not seen new Bond yet (Quantum) or Madagascar 2, which normally
by now we’d have seen them both, so that’s showing a little restraint.
I did rent Tropic Thunder from Netflix so I’ll finally see that
sometime this week, I hope.

So, how are *you*?

There. Whew. Okay, I think I’ve got a spot where I can write a little something.

I like to watch movies. They are one of my primary means of escape, sometimes a little too much, when things get hairy. I mean, what better way to forget (for instance) that the world is plunging into a Great Depression, than to watch a movie where things are far worse, such as Terminator, or Children of Men? See how that works?

I can escape to a fantasy world and marvel at the characters and maybe enjoy some witty dialog or special effects. It’s a couple of hours in my own little world. It’s a mostly harmless addiction, and it keeps me off the streets.

Okay, enough of that. I like movies. And if I had to pick a couple of gems from the past few years, it’s hard to go wrong with Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. The astute observer might see that these movies have something in common - Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, for starters. (ding ding, you’re right)

(in case you didn’t know, Simon will be in the new Star Trek. Just thought I’d throw that in there since I had pretty much ignored Star Trek but just found out a minute ago that Simon is playing a young Scotty. Hells yeah!)

So, I liked these two movies, a ton, and also pretty much liked Run, Fat Boy, Run (being a running fat boy, myself) and so on.

So today I hear about their newest movie, called Paul, which has nothing to do with the Beatles or church, but everything to do with geeks and aliens.

“Story revolves around two British slackers who after visiting Comic-Con go on a road trip to Area 51 where they encounter a small alien named Paul, who enlists them to help him find his way home.”

After letting my imagination go nuts on that for a minute, I have to agree with the sentiment in one of the commenters at JoBlo: I have a boner.
