Listening to the radio on the way to work (it’s not a stereo, the left speaker has only worked intermittently for the last 12 years or so) they were playing Fat Bottom Girls and I was freaking out the other drivers a bit with my Mercury-style antics.

So I thought what better way to deal with this particular song being stuck in my head than to put it on here so it could be stuck in someone else’s head, too? (Power in numbers, y’all).

BUT then I ran across this one while digging around youtube so damn, you get this one instead:

Give me all. your. love. tonight!

OK, I can’t stop there, you get the original (it’s like two-fer Tuesday but a day late)

First song on the radio this morning (honest!) and it’s still rattling around my brain. They are out of coffee at work, maybe I should switch..

Up every morning at the crack of dawn
Nights as short as the days are long
Life turned out to be another magazine
Livin’ with a stranger now
Girl i knew got away somehow
She went out with two bit gasoline
On the go,back – you know what i mean

Now when the word was Thunderbird
And the price recorded twice
Drinkin’ wine and lovin’ you was fun

Ah,but love turned out to be a passin’ thing
Different bird of a different wing
Some damn fool put a dollar twenty nine
On a jug of Thunderbird wine

And Lord i don’t know if i’m gonna make it
Don’t know if i’ll have the strength to take it
Everything’s hung up in yesterday

There’s you a secret-minded social girl
Takin’ short cuts in a woman’s world
She won’t let her hair down when i’m home
Society’s just slavery
And security is killing me
I work hard for it but i give it all away
If i could go back to yesterday

Now when the word was Thunderbird
And the price recorded twice
Drinkin’ wine and lovin’ you was fun

Ah,but love turned out to be a passin’ thing
Different bird of a different wing
Some damn fool put a dollar twenty nine
On a jug of Thunderbird wine

Jingle this

I’m gonna tell you how it’s gonna be
You’re gonna give your love to me
I wanna love you night and day
You know my love not fade away
Well, you know my love not fade away

In time, in time, in time

Do you know what I can NOT get out of my head? In spite of hours of radio?

That commercial where the guy is driving through the woods and all the little animals come in his car to sing Rock Me Gently.

Yeah. That.

(oh, and you should know this would be a great earworm for me, since I’ve written about it long ago)

Not for lack of trying. I’m listening to “All Right, Now” by Free right now. Baby.
