I do not remember (and am currently too lazy to look), did you ever get yourself the PDA you wanted? If not (of if you feel like unloading the PDA on eBay or the like), you could go with something like the Treo, the Audiovox (or Siemens depending on your cell provider) PocketPC phone.

Allows you to reduce the number of toys you need to carry around.

Going back to the Razr (correct spelling) or other bluetooth phone, the big benefit is that you can keep the phone in it's holster, shirt pocket, whatever and never have to actually take it out, since you can answer it right from the Bluetooth headset (just something to consider).

You are a sneaky, sneaky bear. Hope you are having a great vacation. I am of no use on the cell phone issue.

I think I have text messaging but I have no idea how to use it. I'm like you, I just want the phone to do um, regular phone stuff.

My brother (child-less, heck all my siblings are child-less) has a Razor and it's neat to look at but I can just imagine my kids bending too far and *snap!*

Text messaging on the cell is wonderful! You can communicate in the movie theater, meetings and even church. You use it when it's too quiet to talk or too loud to hear. Your spouse can send a grocery list to make sure you don't forget. It allows you to blog when you are away from the computer. You DO want text messaging.
